Liverpool suffered an absolutely brutal 2-1 defeat away to Tottenham on Saturday night as the Reds’ supporters were left stunned by a disgraceful refereeing performance.
The Reds were buoyed by defeats to Man City, Man United and Everton earlier in the day and knew a win at Tottenham would lift them to the top of the Premier League.
Curtis Jones’ harsh red card gave Liverpool a huge uphill climb and when Son Heung-min opened the scoring, things got even more complicated.
Cody Gakpo equalized on the stroke of half-time, but substitute Diogo Jota was also sent off before Joel Matip scored a heartbreaking own goal in stoppage time.
