As Liverpool appeals, Jamie Carragher discusses the "big problem" with Curtis Jones' dismissal.

Liverpool have confirmed they will appeal against Curtis Jones’ red card against Tottenham – with club legend Jamie Carragher questioning the dismissal on Monday Night Football.

Jamie Carragher claims he is “fed up with things going slow” and VAR replays MUST first be shown to the referee at normal speed.

Liverpool midfielder Curtis Jones missed the 2-1 defeat at Tottenham on Saturday night. Jones caught Yves Bissouma with his studs after a failed challenge and was red carded after a VAR review. Jurgen Klopp’s management have confirmed they will appeal Jones’ dismissal.

VAR official Darren England instructed referee Simon Hooper to analyze Jones’ error on the edge of the field. England showed Hooper a slow replay and Carragher believes it made the Liverpudlian strike look worse than it actually was.

Carragher analyzes Jones’ mistake on Monday Night Football. The Liverpool legend believes that on-field referees should only be shown live on a pitch screen so they can assess incidents as if they were happening again in front of them.

Carragher said: “I have no problem with it being a red card – I would have liked it not to have been given, not because of my Liverpool corner, but I always think as a referee, can you keep the score against 11. the problem was what was shown to the referee when he went to the VAR monitor and how he came to that decision. “I’ve been saying this for a while, but when people see the first shot, they feel that the referee will watch the incident on the screen a second time – that’s not happening, it’s not true. . . .

As Liverpool appeals, Jamie Carragher discusses the "big problem" with Curtis Jones' dismissal.

“It shouldn’t be the first strike, I don’t think. When the referee goes to watch, he should be shown the situation at full speed. “I’m tired of slowing things down. It was a corner at full speed, look at it and when you look at it at full speed you know it’s a tough challenge, that’s why the referee gave the yellow card. It’s down and coming. to a real decision, with Curtis Jones I actually got some of him too bad.

“When you finish it, he immediately looks at the ball and sees where Bissouma is. Everything is really close, but when you are a player and you already have in your mind what you are going to do, he just pulls his shirt. a. a little, it it’s not a mistake, it just stops him and pulls him back, making him tense up. “If you end it there, because of what I said about the referee seeing the footage – if he had seen it before the challenge, you might have a different mindset, but he can still send him off.”
