Unlike the international break in September, this break from club football comes at the right time for Liverpool.
Despite playing well away to both Tottenham and Brighton, and being on the wrong end of some terrible tackles, the Reds managed just one point from a possible six after collecting 16 points from 18.
While this dip in form has allowed a three-point gap between the Reds and both north London clubs at the top of the table, Jurgen Klopp’s side have continued to perform well and there is no reason to believe Liverpool can’t still compete. . in the championships of this season.
With a poor run of results, an international break isn’t the worst thing in the world for the Reds as they prepare for the Merseyside derby at Anfield on Saturday 21 October.

Andy Robertson faces Spain in the only televised game on Thursday night as Scotland continue their impressive run in the Euro 2024 qualifiers.
Meanwhile, it will be a South American upfront battle for Liverpool when Luis Diaz’s Colombia take on Darwin Nunez’s Uruguay in the first of two World Cup qualifiers this month.
Mohamed Salah is likely to feature for Egypt when they face Zambia in the first of two friendlies, while young Reds Harvey Elliott and Jarell Quansah face England Under-21s and Serbia Under-21s in UEFA EURO Qualifiers Group F.

The Five Reds are on TV in Britain on Friday night, with Trent Alexander-Arnold facing Australia and England, Kostas Tsimikas’ Greece away to Ireland, Jota welcoming Slovakia to Portugal and the Liverpool centre-back. Virgil van Dijk and Ibrahima Konate will face the Netherlands and France.

Monday night’s televised game will see Liverpool’s two defenders go head-to-head again in Van Dijk and Tsimikas, while Jota’s Portugal face a trip to Bosnia and Herzegovina to continue their Euro 2024 qualifiers.
