Shanahan simply shrugged off the controversy

Kyle Shanahan didn’t seem to care about George Kittle’s shirt choice in the Dallas Cowboys’ destruction of the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday night. The 49ers head coach didn’t get too involved with the jersey unveiling this week.

“Not much. Just Kittle, WWE stuff, entertainment,” Shanahan told reporters in a team text Wednesday. “Not really, I just smiled at it.”

Kittle could be fined by the NFL for revealing his obscene T-shirt that read “F— Dallas” after a 49ers TD. According to the NFL’s fantasy schedule, Kittle could be worth $10,927. Kittle flashed his jersey in the fourth quarter of Sunday’s win after Jordan Mason’s 26-yard touchdown run gave the 49ers a 42-10 lead.

The t-shirt was similar to what former 49ers quarterback Gary Plummer wore under his jersey in the 1994 NFC Championship Game over the Cowboys. The 49ers used the momentum gained en route to a victory over the Chargers in Super Bowl XXIX.

Kittle’s jersey may be underrated by the 49ers, but Cowboys linebacker Micah Parsons took it personally. “I feel like he’s making it a lot more personal than it needs to be,” Parsons said on his “The Edge with Micah Parsons” podcast. “Kittle is my man, but I will say this: laugh now, cry later.

“We have something for it, just trust. When we see them again, just trust… Making it personal? We can make it personal.”

Deebo Samuel immediately fired back at Parsons after those comments. The 49ers seem to want the Cowboys again, especially after beating them three times in the past two years — twice in the playoffs.

“It was personal before the game even started … 42-10, I don’t think you want to see us again. It could have been a little worse,” Samuel said Tuesday on “Up and Adams.” “I don’t think he wants to see us again.”

The 49ers don’t seem to care about the jersey. Dallas might not care either, especially after the Cowboys face the Los Angeles Chargers on Monday night.
