Liverpool have been told who to sign to replace Mohamed Salah as the teenager caught the eye of club legend Sir Kenny Dalgley.

The international break has begun and Liverpool will not return to action until October 21 when they face rivals Everton in the Merseyside derby.

Jurgen Klopp’s side will be looking to mount a title challenge this season and will be hoping to return to winning ways against the Toffees after failing to win their last two Premier League games. Tottenham controversially beat them last month before playing Brighton at the weekend.

Liverpool are currently fourth in the league, just three points behind Tottenham and Arsenal, and have started their Europa League campaign unbeaten with wins over LASK and Union Saint-Gilloise. Here, Mirror Football collects the latest Liverpool news. Salah’s replacement has been identified

Former Liverpool defender Stephen Warnock believes the Reds should sign Napoli star Khvicha Kvaratskheli if Mohamad Salah leaves the club.

Speaking to TalkSPORT, Warnock said: “Everyone is replaceable. I’ve said it about [Luis] Suarez, I’ve said it about [Philippe] Coutinho and he [Salah] is replaceable over time. I think the big problem with Salah if you get 175 million pounds from Saudi Arabia, it’s an offer that’s hard to say no to.

– I would not sell him in January, but maybe next season, but only if you have someone else. There is an exciting lineup to get, one player that comes to mind is Kvaratskhelia. He’s a player you look at when you think he’s young, he’s got potential and he can play, but he’s a left-sided player, could he could he play on the right?”

Dalglish greets Doak

Liverpool legend Sir Kenny Dalglish is a big fan of 17-year-old prospect Ben Doak and claims the striker has a chance of making Scotland’s Euro 2024 squad with Steve Clarke’s side on the brink of qualification.

Doak started in Liverpool’s Europa League win against LASK and remained on the bench in the Premier League, catching the eye of Dalglish with his progress. “He’s still a baby, right? He’s done really well in just a year and a half,” she said of Doak. “He’s not far from it [Scotland]. He was on the bench at Brighton [last weekend] and got into the Europa League. If he gets it right, he’s got a lot of things ahead of him. He wants more for himself than against him.”

Former Liverpool star Xabi Alonso impressed as Bayer Leverkusen manager

Alonso could replace Klopp

Former Liverpool midfielder Xabi Alonso has made an impressive start to his managerial career and has been touted as a potential replacement for Klopp.

Alonso’s Bayer Leverkusen are currently at the top of the Bundesliga, two points ahead of Bayern at the start of the season. As a result, the Spaniard has been linked with a number of top jobs across Europe and signed a new deal in the summer that runs until 2026.

However, according to Sport Bild, there is a clause in Alonso’s contract, according to which he can leave next summer and move to one of his former clubs, ie. Liverpool, Real Madrid or Bayern Munich.
