A number of Liverpool players were at the game with their international teams last night

Ibrahima Konate scored in a one-on-one with Virgil van Dijk tonight to lead France to a 2-1 win against the Netherlands in their Euro 2024 qualifier.

Konate played the full 90 minutes as Les Blues maintained their 100 per cent winning record in qualifying. Van Dijk was on the losing side this time and also played the whole match. It was a night where Kylian Mbappe once again showed his class, impressing both nations as they booked their place at next year’s European Championships thanks to this result.

Trent Alexander-Arnold made a rare start for England as Gareth Southgate’s side beat Australia 1-0 in a friendly at Wembley. The only goal of the game was scored by Ollie Watkins, Alexander-Arnold’s through ball that later went to Watkins through Jack Grealish.

The rest of the evening was successful for Kostas Tsimikas. The Liverpool left-back provided an assist in Greece’s 2-0 win in Ireland to move them ahead of the Netherlands into second place in the group stage.
