Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones recently praised quarterback Dak Prescott. But not all of the team’s fans feel the same way. After the San Francisco 49ers suffered a humbling loss in Week 5, there were questions about Prescott’s ability to lead the team. One Dallas radio station, 105.3 The Fan, even went so far as to wish him ill and suggested that backup quarterback Cooper Rush take over.

Such speech is not only disrespectful, but also dangerous. NFL players put their bodies on the line every time they step on the field, and wishing for an injury is unacceptable. As one X-user noted: “We need to stop wishing injuries on players… horrible.”

Despite the negative opinion of some fans, Prescott continued to perform well for the Cowboys. After a rough game against the Niners, he rebounded with a strong performance against the Chargers. He threw for 272 yards and a touchdown rushing for his second TD in the 20–17 victory.

The Cowboys offense has struggled at times this season, but they are still in contention for first place in the NFC East with a 4-2 record. As Jones said in praising Prescott, “He’s a winner. He’s a competitor. He’s got great leadership. He’s got great instincts. He’s got great accuracy.”
