The Dallas Cowboys marched into SoFi Stadium in Week 6 and got a hard-earned win over the Los Angeles Chargers.

Needing a win to prove they remain in the conversation to get out of the NFC, the Cowboys helped their case by keeping the Chargers from beating them.

Dallas’ offense looked better thanks to Dak Prescott, who threw for 272 yards and one touchdown, adding a 40-yard rush and another score.

Much of the criticism of the cowboys’ offense came at the expense of Mike McCarthy, who continues to play conservatively.

Prescott’s numbers have been down this season, and McCarthy’s call-up is one of the biggest reasons for that. McCarthy made some questionable decisions against the Chargers, such as going for a field goal late in the first half. This choice sparked the thought of Nick Wright via What’s Wright. With Nick Wright.

It was coaching malpractice and it’s such an inditement of what McCarthy thinks of Dak,” Wright said.

Wright points out that Dallas had two overtimes left and enough time to make at least one more play for a potential touchdown.

Instead, McCarthy opted to let the clock run out and settle for a field goal to give the Cowboys a 10-7 halftime lead.

Even though Dallas was successful, Wright is right that the margins are too small to not score a touchdown in this situation.

McCarthy and the Cowboys are celebrating the win, but they still have a lot of questions to answer before being taken seriously.
