Dallas Cowboys receiver CeeDee Lamb tore up the Los Angeles Chargers defense, and offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer revealed that Lamb’s desire to dominate started in practice.

Get the ball to 88. Early against the Los Angeles Chargers, that seemed to be the plan for the Dallas Cowboys and CeeDee Lamb and the “Texas Coast Offense” started.

Making up for last week’s mistakes, Lamb wasn’t shy about his frustration with how he and his team played against the San Francisco 49ers as he had just four catches for 49 yards.

And he did just that. Lamb had all seven catches for 117 yards, and the connection between him and Dak Prescott was excellent from the start against the Chargers. But according to offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer, Lamb’s desire to dominate the game came early this week..

“It really did start in practice,” Schottenheimer said. “He was a man on a mission. It was our Thursday practice, he was on a mission. You saw that mindset, and I think there’s something to that. First couple of plays, you get him going and he just feeds off it. I love how passionately she plays with her flaming hair.”

Lamb was criticized for his body language against the 49ers, and even Richard Sherman called him overrated after the game.

It was fuel to the fire that fueled Lamb’s desire to prove everyone wrong.

And Lamb’s burning desire to help his team would see him get the best welcome on the pitch on Monday night… and it wasn’t even close.

It was important that Lamb be one of those players who played a big role in helping the Chargers win early. “It’s probably the best thing for me to be able to come out here and take care of my team and contribute to the win,” Lamb said. “I feel like I’m definitely an impact player, so it was really important for us to get it going early and get the ball early.”

 Really important.

We know the talent of the former Oklahoma star; he just needs a chance to make plays. He has yet to let Dallas down when targets come his way, and on Monday night he showed why he is considered the No. 1 prospect in Dallas.

Going forward, the recipe for success for Mike McCarthy’s offense seems clear: get ball No. 88 and good things usually come.
