Dallas Cowboys quarterback Micah Parsons blamed fans and the media for selecting quarterback Dak Prescott even though he didn’t scout Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurt.

Dallas Cowboys linebacker Micah Parsons spoke out about the Philadelphia Eagles’ surprising loss to the New York Jets last Sunday to highlight how people mistreat Dak Prescott.

Priests questioned why members of the media were upset with Prescott after losses to the Arizona Cardinals and San Francisco 49ers, while Hurts avoided the worst criticism following the efficiency of the Jets. Parsons claimed that critics have divided his team this season, looking at his recent avoidance of reporters.

“I don’t condone bashing Dak Prescott and the Dallas Cowboys, and [I want] people to have the same energy for the Eagles,” Parsons said on “The Edge” podcast. “We want the same energy for everybody because it’s a lot of fun with Dak Prescott, but not the same when it comes to the Eagles.”

“I have time today,” Pastors continued. “A lot of people said the Browns defense is overpowered. I said the Browns are the real deal. [FOX analyst Emmanuel] Acho said what pissed me off: “I’m not worried about the 49ers, they were missing Christian McCaffrey. [and] Deebo Samuel. The Browns were missing Deshaun Watson and Nick Chubb! They were missing key factors even before the game started.”

Parsons added, “Why are we just bushes and nobody who doesn’t deserve to be on the field just talking? But there are 100 excuses for those other teams. If you all just hate Cowboys Nation, just say you hate Cowboys Nation.”

Hurts’ late interception on Sunday allowed the Jets to win the game. The Eagles only lost in Week 6 and reached the Super Bowl last season. They remain on the NFC East.

As Parsons noted, San Francisco lost its first game of the year to the Cleveland Browns. However, the Cowboys were beaten 42-10 a week earlier.
Prescott has come under close scrutiny for several years, partly because he plays on one of the NFL’s most polarized teams, but also because he threw a league-high 15 interceptions in 2022 and has a 2-4 career playoff record. This season, his passer rating is essentially the same as last year (91 compared to 91.1).

However, the Cowboys are on track to secure a spot in the postseason with one of the best defenses in the NFL. After beating the Los Angeles Chargers 20-17 on Monday, the Parsons-led unit has now held four opponents under 20 points this campaign.

Prescott had a personal-best performance against the Chargers, completing 21 of 30 attempts for 271 yards, a touchdown and no interceptions. He also ran for 40 yards and a score. Parsons hopes the quarterback can repeat that performance in two weeks against the Eagles — and wants critics to write him off in the meantime.

“I’m tired of people trashing my quarterback,” Parsons told his podcast listeners. “I’m tired of people bashing my team and that’s why I had nothing to say to the media this week.”
