An encouraging piece of injury news has been verified by Jurgen Klopp before of Liverpool’s Europa League match against Toulouse on Thursday night.

In the lead-up to the match on Wednesday afternoon, the Reds boss answered questions from the media regarding the health of players who were carrying or had been carrying injuries.

Among them was Cody Gakpo, who has been out due to a knee injury sustained during the 2-1 loss to Tottenham at the end of September (Evening Standard). However, the 24-year-old’s condition has improved.

Regarding the Dutchman’s potential participation tomorrow night, Klopp stated (via Liverpool Echo): “Cody is in full training now since Sunday.” He is free to join the squad.

The manager also stated that Thiago Alcantara and Stefan Bajcetic, who have been out due to longer-term injuries, are not receiving any information.

Gakpo’s return to fitness is a huge boost for Liverpool ahead of their match against Toulouse, allowing the manager of the Reds more flexibility in how he lineups his front three for the match tomorrow night.

Before suffering a knee injury, the Netherlands forward was playing well. Prior to that unfortunate match, he had scored three goals in four games (Transfermarkt) versus Spurs before being forced to leave the game at halftime.

It is unclear if the 24-year-old will start the game against the Ligue 1 team right away; Darwin Nunez might get the start from Klopp after the latter’s impressive performance last Saturday coming off the bench and setting up Mo Salah’s game-winning goal following a swift counterattack.

The Uruguayan may start tomorrow, and Gakpo may be among the substitutes. The two may switch places for Sunday’s match against Nottingham Forest, but Liverpool should be extremely happy that the manager can select between the two again before their Europa League match.
