Early team news

The player most likely to return from the sidelines is Cody Gakpo. The giant Dutchman was then injured in the defeat at Tottenham and has not played since, but has continued to train so hopefully he will be available.

The outlook is currently less positive for Andy Robertson, Thiago Alcântara and Stefan Bajčetić, none of whom will play in this match. Klopp’s main selection question is which players need rest and who will replace them. Caoimhín Kelleher, who recently returned from injury, is likely to start in goal, while Curtis Jones is expected to feature as he is suspended until the next league game. Beyond that, we’ll have to wait and see.
