Rob Gronkowski lashes out at New England Patriots for celebrating their victory over the Buffalo Bills

Rob Gronkowski, a former tight end for the New England Patriots, wasn’t happy with how the team’s current players celebrated their team’s thrilling 29-25 victory over the Buffalo Bills on Sunday, which raised their record to 2-5 overall.

During an appearance on FanDuel TV’s “Up and Adams” program, Gronkowski said, “They just won one game and they celebrated, like, more than we would when we won the Super Bowl,” according to Andrew Battifarano of the New York Post. “It was one of the most ridiculous parties ever. “Wow, they won a game,” is how I feel. They became so insane. They are behaving as though it is their first time there. They were absurdly griddlying or griddying everywhere they went.”

With 12 seconds left in regulation, Patriots quarterback Mac Jones found tight end Mike Gesicki for the game-winning touchdown. Gesicki celebrated the play with a particular gesture that Jones had already adopted:

It was evident to Gronkowski by former Patriots safety Patrick Chung that this was no typical Sunday-afternoon victory. In the midst of rumors that team owner Robert Kraft may fire head coach Bill Belichick this winter if the team didn’t improve, the Patriots may or may not have been close to shopping Jones ahead of next Tuesday’s trade deadline.

Chung said, “It’s a division win, much needed.” “The team will benefit greatly from that. We’ll be OK if they do whatever they have to, celebrate all they want, and win some more games.”

Known for his good times during and after his playing career, Gronkowski has made it seem extremely difficult to adhere to Belichick’s “The Patriot Way” on numerous occasions. It’s therefore a little strange that he would offer such a sharp analysis of players relishing a dramatic win that they are hoping will turn around a season that looked hopeless less than a week ago.

It is true that Jones and Belichick have a lot of work ahead of them to lead the Patriots into any postseason discussions. The Pats are nine-point underdogs against the Miami Dolphins 5-2 on Sunday, according to OddsChecker as of late Thursday morning.
