Jamie Carragher has offered his new Premier League title judgment, following Manchester City’s 3-0 victory over Manchester United.

Jamie Carragher believes Manchester City will win the Premier League “comfortably” and believes Liverpool are not “quite there” to win the title.

Pep Guardiola’s side eased to a 3-0 success over Manchester United on Sunday as Erling Haaland struck twice, while Phil Foden also scored to put gloss on the scoreline. It was a victory that moved City up to third, level on points with second-place Arsenal and two behind leaders Tottenham.

Meanwhile, Liverpool are fourth after beating Nottingham Forest 3-0, with Diogo Jota, Darwin Nunez and Mohamed Salah scoring for Jurgen Klopp’s men. The Reds are one point worse off than City, having won seven, drawn two and lost one from their opening 10 top-flight matches.

Aston Villa are fifth after a comfortable 3-1 win against Luton Town, with five points separating them from Newcastle and Brighton, who are sixth and seventh, respectively. Erik ten Hag’s United are in eighth place after losing five Premier League games this season, while Chelsea are in eleventh.

Following the Manchester derby, Carragher was asked if City are title favorites. “I’ve got the feeling with City when I was coming up against Gary [Neville] and Roy [Keane], where even if Manchester United in years go by weren’t top at this stage, it’s almost if they are getting ready for the second half of the season,” he said in an interview with Sky Sports.

“That today, in a big game, they put on a show to show how good they are, that they are still the team to beat.” I believe they will win the league easily this season! I don’t believe Liverpool is ready to mount a meaningful challenge.

“Arsenal, of course did that last season, and even though they’ve made a good start, I don’t think they are playing as well as this time last season, so I don’t think everything is 100 percent there.”

“City’s recent defeats by Wolverhampton Wanderers and Arsenal have given the rest of the league cause for optimism.” If Liverpool is in a position to capitalize, it will go above and beyond pre-season predictions. Arsenal is thought to be the most likely to overtake City. Are Arsenal superior to Liverpool? We’ll find out by Christmas.”

After suffering back-to-back defeats before the international break, City bounced back by defeating Brighton 2-1 before cruising to victory at Old Trafford. When asked about his team’s performance at Manchester United and their reaction to their loss at Arsenal earlier this month, Guardiola responded, “I always have a good feeling here.” The players always give their all, and I am overjoyed for our supporters and what it means to them.”

“Arsenal won because they are a fantastic team,” he added. My strategy was, in my opinion, ineffective. We played in a different manner because I anticipated that the space would be in different positions, and after that, I stated that it was not good, but it occurred. The players understand how difficult the Premier League is. Brighton was crucial in breaking that losing streak, and the manner we played against Young Boys helped us a lot.”
