In Week 8, Jalen Hurts and the Philadelphia Eagles pulled off yet another significant win. The Eagles defeated the NFC East division foe Washington Commanders by a total score of 38-31.

Many people predicted that the Eagles would run away with the game early and never look back. Obviously, based on the final score, everyone can see that those predictions were incorrect. As is typical with competitors, the game was tremendously interesting from start to finish.

Nobody would realize from the box score that Hurts has been battling with a lingering knee injury. He completed 29 of 38 passes for 319 yards, four touchdowns, and no interceptions. His sprinting figures, on the other hand, reveal a different side of the tale.

Hurts has become one of the league’s most feared dual-threat quarterbacks since taking over as starting in Philadelphia. In Week 8 against Washington, he only gained six yards on four carries. That is extremely unusual for a totally healthy Hurts.

Following the victory, an update on Hurts’ injuries was provided. He appears to have received an hour of treatment for his knee following the stunning win.

Jalen Hurts Must Be Healthy For The Eagles

Despite a 7-1 record through eight weeks, the Eagles have reason to be concerned. They have won all but one game, but none have been completely dominant. Things should be looking lot better for Philadelphia with the talent they have on their roster.

Concerns have also been raised concerning the strength of the opponents they have vanquished. So far, the Eagles have defeated the New England Patriots, Minnesota Vikings, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Washington Commanders twice, and the Miami Dolphins in seven games. Clearly, the Dolphins’ victory was significant, but Miami has yet to defeat a true contender.

The Eagles’ loss against the Jets was a huge red flag. There are still some details to be worked out.

The Eagles’ future also does not appear promising. In Week 9, they will travel to Dallas to face the Cowboys. Hurts will have to play his best game in that game. Dallas’ defense is genuinely dominant, and Micah Parsons will be chasing him around the whole game.

If Jalen Hurts enters the game limping, the Cowboys will take full advantage.

Hurts’ injury status for the Dallas game will be determined by time. Hopefully, he can get some rest this week and make some progress in his recovery. The Eagles desperately need him to recover from his injury.
