On Sunday, the Pittsburgh Steelers were defeated 20-10 by the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 8 action.

Following the game, the Jaguars won their fifth consecutive game, giving them a 6-2 record through eight games, which is officially the second-best eight-game start in franchise history.

The Jaguars took a two-touchdown lead in the third quarter thanks to RB Travis Etienne’s 56-yard touchdown reception. Brandon McManus, the kicker, made all four of his field goal attempts.

Following their loss, Steelers wide receiver Diontae Johnson is now blaming the officials for the team’s 20-10 defeat, which dropped their record to 4-3.

Johnson led the team with 8 catches for 85 yards and informed the media after the game,

“No matter what anyone says, they cost us the game.” They were rooting for them to win. Every small call had gone in their favor.”

He went on to say,

“They were saying dumb things. They should be penalized for making poor decisions. That’s how angry I am. They must have been nicely compensated today.”

Steelers kicker Chris Boswell joined WR Johnson in criticizing NFL officials, stating they ruined up their game.

He posted an image on his Instagram wall tales illustrating how the Steelers were actually lined up correctly on a play where the officials ruled they were offsides.

Jaguars Head Coach Doug Pederson stated following the team’s loss:

“It’s just a testament to the guys.” They never give up. They continue to fight. They continue to play hard. It’s a philosophy in which we’ll just keep playing hard and something good will happen eventually.”
