Following the Carabao Cup quarter-final draw, Liverpool have been drawn at home against West Ham, while Everton will face Fulham.

Liverpool, who have already qualified for the Carabao Cup quarter-finals, will face West Ham, while Everton will face Fulham at home in tonight’s draw.

On an emotional night at Goodison Park, the Blues took part in a stunning annihilation of Sean Dyche’s previous club Burnley. The team celebrated the death of chairman Bill Kenwright with a 3-0 victory, thanks to goals from James Tarkowski, Amadou Onana, and Ashley Young.

Meanwhile, the Reds were traveling down the South Coast as Storm Ciaran neared. Cody Gakpo’s first-half opening was finally cancelled out by Justin Kluivert, but Darwin Nunez’s late heroics saved the round for Jurgen Klopp’s men, who remain in contention for the title they won two seasons ago.

Elsewhere, Arsenal and Manchester United were both eliminated from the competition, widening the field as the final at Wembley approaches.

Liverpool received ball number three, while Everton received ball number five. The quarter final was drawn on the pitchside after United’s encounter at Old Trafford by Izzy Christiansen and Andy Cole:

QF Tie 1: Everton vs Fulham

QF Tie 2: Chelsea vs Newcastle United

QF Tie 3: Port Vale vs Middlesbrough

QF Tie 4: Liverpool vs West Ham United

It means that both Merseyside clubs will host teams from the capital, a preliminary indication that the games will not take place on the same night.

Both matches have already taken place this season, with the Blues losing 1-0 to Marco Silva’s men on the opening day of the season and the Reds defeating the Hammers at Anfield in September.

The previous time Everton played this opponent in the League Cup was ten years ago, when the Cottagers won 2-1 on the banks of the Thames.

Meanwhile, Liverpool has not faced West Ham in this competition since January 1983, when David Hodgson and Graeme Souness scored the decisive goals.

The next round’s dates and times will be announced in the coming days, but the fixtures are expected to take place during the week beginning Monday, December 18.
