The company NBC Universal, Inc. Matt Maiocco discusses how Chase Young will allow Nick Bosa to be “more of a game-changing type of payer” in this week’s “49ers Talk.”

Despite the fact that many players were away from the club during their bye week, one of the 49ers’ captains was able to comment on the team’s recent signing of defensive end Chase Young.

During his weekly visit on the “Up & Adams Show,” Deebo Samuel expressed his delight over the 49ers’ big move for Young ahead of the NFL trade deadline on Tuesday.

“It’s just crazy all the guys that we got on the D-line, and just to add him, and it’s such an impact he’s had on his career this far, for him to be a part of the team is kind of amazing,” Adams said. “You know, we’ve got some good guys on the D-line right now.” “Adding him is like an extra little boost that I think we need.”

When Adams questioned if Samuel had spoken to his new teammate since the trade, the 49ers’ star wide receiver provided specifics of a phone call he had with Young shortly after learning of the deal.

“Yeah, I actually called him after I got the news because I was out there on the field working out,” Samuel told me. “I was like, ‘Bro, you ready to come out here,’ and he was like, ‘Man, I was just on the massage table, and to get a call that I’m going to the Niners, s–t I’m ready to go!'”

Young is now reunited on the 49ers’ defensive line with former Ohio State teammate Nick Bosa, who was taken No. 2 overall in both the 2019 and 2020 NFL Drafts.

According to Next Gen Stats, the powerful combo has wreaked havoc on opposing quarterbacks throughout the 2023 NFL season, with Bosa’s 41 pressures and Young’s 40 pressures ranking fourth and fifth in the league, respectively.
