During their first season together, the Green Bay Packers and Jordan Love have had their ups and downs. The Packers were 2-1 through their first three games and were coming off a spectacular comeback victory over the New Orleans Saints. In fact, the Packers were one fourth-quarter breakdown away from going 3-0 on the season (against the Atlanta Falcons).

However, the Packers have lost four straight games since week three, and the offense’s consistency has been at the heart of the team’s troubles. Today, the Packers’ quarterbacks coach discussed Jordan Love’s growth this season.

Packers Quarterback Coach Tom Clements Discusses Jordan Love’s Progress in 2023

Packers QB coach Tom Clements on how the youth surrounding Jordan Love has influenced him as a new starting quarterback:

“We haven’t played together that much. Aaron was with the same guys while he was starting and when he wasn’t starting. This has not been the case.”

Green Bay Packers quarterbacks coach Tom Clements contrasted the transition from Brett Favre to Aaron Rodgers to Jordan Love a few weeks ago, saying that the Packers knew Love would produce a successful quarterback, just as they did with Rodgers in 2008. How good is it? It’s tough to know for sure after only four starts in 2023, but Clements commented on the Packers’ beliefs:

You always have a sense of how he’ll do when he becomes the full-time starter based on how he’s practiced and performed in the preseason and previous years, and he’s reinforced our beliefs. “He’s a good player,” Clements remarked on Monday, according to Packers.com.
