Luton Town host Liverpool at Kenilworth Road on Sunday, hoping to cause a major upset.
Liverpool are in the Premier League title battle, as Jurgen Klopp’s team has won seven of their ten games this season, with their only setback coming with the final kick of that contentious match at Tottenham. The job before of Luton Town this Saturday is massive, but Rob Edwards’ team has stayed in there in most games, and their narrow pitch and intimidating atmosphere will undoubtedly assist level the playing field. The Hatters have five points so far and were relegated last weekend after losing at Aston Villa. They have now lost three of their previous four games.
Liverpool has won two games in a row, most recently defeating Nottingham Forest 3-0 at Anfield. They also advanced to the League Cup quarterfinals in midweek after defeating Bournemouth. Klopp has been skillfully rotating his forward line, and Liverpool are only three points off the top and appear to be back in the title chase this season. Yes, there are still defensive difficulties, but the midfield balance is improving, and Ryan Gravenberch is providing Liverpool with the extra solidity they require in the engine room.

The Hatters are faithful to their identity; the players understand the system and are a nuisance from set-piece and counter-attacking scenarios. Luton will try to keep it tight and get 10 men behind the ball before pouncing, and the longer they can keep it level, the more likely a famous upset will occur.
