The San Francisco 49ers demonstrated to the league that they were serious about their Super Bowl chances by acquiring Chase Young from the Washington Commanders at the NFL trading deadline.

The 49ers sent a third-round pick in 2024 to acquire brief, who is finally healthy after suffering with various ailments during his brief career.

San Francisco had lost three straight games after winning the first five of the 2023 NFL season, and acquiring Young shows that they felt the need to do anything to bring some life back into the club.

With Young on board, the 49ers have probably the most talented and deep defensive line in the NFL, which should make opposing quarterbacks nervous.

Young will not make his debut until Week 10 because the 49ers were on bye last week, but fans got their first glance at the pass rusher in his new gear via the 49ers’ official team account.

Young is seen walking toward the team’s practice field while wearing the No. 92 in the team’s famous red hue.

Fans are obviously eager to see what Young can achieve in the Bay Area, where he will have a far superior squad to work with than he did in Washington.

At 5-3, the 49ers are hopeful that acquiring Young will help them get back into the win column, but they’ll need to play much better than they have done as they go to Jacksonville to face the Jaguars.
