The San Francisco 49ers have lost three games in a row after starting the season 5-0, and they received a much-needed bye week last week to recoup and restock.

They have reason to be optimistic moving forward, as they are getting healthier and will unveil a new weapon: defensive end Chase Young, whom they acquired in a trade with the Washington Commanders last week.

This weekend, San Francisco will travel to Florida to face the Jacksonville Jaguars, who have won five straight games and are definitely a rising power.

According to NBC Sports, star running back Christian McCaffrey stated that this will be a statement game and that they must win it.

One of the major reasons for the 49ers’ three-game losing run is that their defense, which was praised last season and early this season, has regressed.

They have allowed at least 400 yards of total offense in each of their last two games, including 452 yards to a Minnesota Vikings club missing Justin Jefferson in Week 7.

Some have placed the finger at new defensive coordinator Steve Wilks, who will be working on the field this week rather than in the booth.

Jacksonville boasts a plethora of weapons, including up-and-coming quarterback Trevor Lawrence, running back Travis Etienne, and wide receivers Christian Kirk and Calvin Ridley.

The Niners’ quarterback, Brock Purdy, needs to improve, but McCaffrey still leads the NFL in rushing yards, and wide receiver Deebo Samuel will return this week after missing the last two games with a shoulder injury.
