The Dallas Cowboys are overwhelming favorites to beat the New York Giants on Sunday, but Micah Parsons has warned of the wounded beast that will enter AT&T Stadium.

“Never mess with your food.” Most of us learned it as children, and Dallas Cowboys standout Micah Parsons is reminding his team of it on Sunday.

The matchup between the Cowboys and the New York Giants appears to be the ultimate mismatch, with Dallas a 17-point favorite.

With quarterbacks Daniel Jones and Tyrod Taylor sidelined, as well as tight end Darren Waller, the Giants’ offense resembles a skeleton crew as Tommy DeVito is expected to start, and the Cowboys are anticipated to win easily.

But Parsons has a message for his teammates.

“Never overlook an opponent,” advised Parsons. ” We’ll see where that leads us this year.” We’re keeping grounded after a difficult loss. This game is suddenly much more important, and it is a divisional game.”

With the Cowboys coming off a heartbreaking 28-23 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles in a game of inches, Parsons and company forced three fumbles, all of which the Eagles recovered. The opportunity for atonement against an injured Giants squad is appealing, as is the opportunity to avoid repeating that “we see where that got us” outing – Micah’s allusion to an early-season loss to a weak Cardinals team.

Many anticipate the Cowboys to extend their winning streak to 12 games at AT&T Stadium on Sunday night.

And Parsons understands what a home crowd can accomplish for his team as it looks to rebound from last week’s loss to the Eagles.

“One, it starts with having the best fans in the world; Cowboys Nation shows up every time, so shout out to … extra motivation right there,” Parsons went on to say. “Then two, just learning from your mistakes, determined and hungry to go after it again, getting our hands back onto another team to redeem ourselves.”

But, with the “Lion-backer” ravenous and ready to pounce on Sunday, don’t expect him to play with his victim – he’s going for the kill.
