Christian McCaffrey of the San Francisco 49ers had his historic touchdown streak ended in Sunday’s win over the Jacksonville Jaguars, causing a somewhat amusing reaction.

McCaffrey enters Sunday’s game having scored at least one touchdown in 17 consecutive games, tying him for the all-time record held by Lenny Moore. Even though the 49ers won 34-3 and attempted everything they could to get McCaffrey a touchdown, he was unable to make it 18. The Niners tried multiple plays at the goal line late in the fourth quarter to score on McCaffrey, but none of them worked.

When asked about the streak’s conclusion, McCaffrey humorously delivered a harsh review of his own performance.

“Yeah, I stink.” Except for me, everyone else on the team scored,” McCaffrey said.

Although McCaffrey exaggerated, Deebo Samuel, Brandon Aiyuk, and George Kittle all scored in Sunday’s triumph. Of course, McCaffrey contributed significantly, with 16 carries for 95 yards and six receptions for 47 yards.

In Week 11, against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, the great running back will have the opportunity to begin a new streak.
