The Jaguars were riding high after winning five straight games leading up to their bye week.

But Jacksonville’s performance against San Francisco on Sunday was a flop.

The 49ers picked up 10 quarterback hits, including two by newcomer Chase Young, as quarterback Trevor Lawrence suffered five sacks. The Jaguars recorded only 12 first downs and a season-low 221 yards.

“I assumed the squad was prepared. “We failed to execute on the opening drive, both defensively and offensively,” head coach Doug Pederson stated in his postgame press conference. “That is the disappointing part. Because these people were prepared. The lack of execution we shown early in the football game really snowballed from there.”

However, there may be a silver lining to Sunday’s outcome.

“They know what they’re doing and did a good job today.” “We’re still trying to get there,” Pederson explained. “I reminded the crew that we hadn’t done anything here. We’re attempting to be similar.

“We’re attempting to maintain consistency, which I believe will benefit our players in some ways.” A bit of a wakeup call, to be honest – coaches, players, we all have to think about what we’re ready to give up over the next eight games to avoid doing this again. I believe our guys will bounce back, like they always do, and we look forward to next week.”

The Jaguars are still undefeated and lead the AFC South. Furthermore, this loss does not figure in the conference standings, which could be crucial in a postseason tiebreaker.

However, the team will undoubtedly want to wash this taste off its collective mouth against the Titans next week.
