After the Dallas Cowboys demolished the New York Giants yet again, the NFL community retaliated.

In Week 10, with the whole NFL watching, the New York Giants let the Dallas Cowboys run up the score on them once again, dropping 49-17 to their long-time division rival.

Big Blue took their lumps on social media following the game, as expected, but one of the most popular insults came from Stephen A. Smith.

“The @NFL has to be shamed into keeping the @Giants off of National TV!” The veteran ESPN host made an appeal on X. “This team is a complete disaster.” They ARE East Rutherford, NJ’s swamp. They do not appear to be qualified to be an NFL team. #GoodLord.”

Smith’s post has already received over 5K likes in five hours.

Brian Daboll, the Giants’ head coach, must keep this team respectable in the second half of the 2023 season.

Few expected the Giants to win in Week 10, but no one wants to see their team humiliated. Smith’s post is the epitome of disgrace for this proud Dallas organization, and it is the most reprehensible aspect of this setback.

NYG head coach Brian Daboll has had a horrible year two after a fantastic year one. His job does not appear to be in peril at the moment, but he and the coaching staff must keep this squad from crumbling completely in the future.

Daboll kept his cool after the setback, but he didn’t have many answers for fans.

“Not the results we wanted,” he stated at the start of his postgame press conference. “I thought we fought well in the second half, but there’s a lot to work on and a lot to improve on.” So, give Dallas credit; they played a fantastic game.”

When questioned later if the blowout was discouraging, Daboll replied, “every loss is demoralizing.”

He didn’t have much to say about the Giants’ defense allowing 640 yards of total offense. “They did a better job than we did,” Daboll countered.

The Giants’ head coach has put on a show all year, which is admirable given the adversity this squad has experienced week after week. However, in a metropolis like New York, coach speak can only be tolerated for so long.

Fans will eventually require answers. And it’s Daboll’s responsibility to start looking for some.

‘Something’s Got to Change, We Just Got to Be Better,’ said Giants QB Tommy DeVito of the Cowboys’ outcome.

In his first NFL start, Giants quarterback Tommy DeVito threw for 86 yards. Although the final stat line included two touchdowns and 41 yards rushing, it paled in compared to Dak Prescott and the opponent.

“It’s tough,” said the undrafted rookie after the game. “You put a lot of effort into the week, into the preparation — practices, meetings, time with your teammates.” Obviously, that is not the desired end, but something has to change; we just have to be better.”

DeVito, to his credit, wasn’t looking for sympathy.

“I won’t feel sorry for myself,” he told the press. “You get put in any situation, the job is to get out of it.” DeVito came to the conclusion that the offense needed to “get more first downs.”

That is one straightforward interpretation. Dallas concluded the game with 32 first downs, six-of-12 third down conversions, and one-of-two fourth down conversions. The Giants, on the other hand, only had 16 first downs and went 0-for-12 on third downs despite converting two-of-three fourths.

In a sport like football, minor errors pile up. If DeVito and the Giants offense can improve on the little things in Week 11, they might be able to outperform the Washington Commanders.
