The Dallas Cowboys have one more game before their customary Thanksgiving Day excursion, and many fans are unsure if this one meets the criteria of a classic “trap game.”
On Sunday, Dallas will pay a visit to the Carolina Panthers—the team with the worst record in the NFL. When the Cowboys went to play the Arizona Cardinals as double-digit point favorites, they were a little guilty of passing up a team once earlier this season. This week, they’re getting double digits once more.
We performed our usual procedure and used Madden 24 to run a simulation in an attempt to try to figure out how Sunday would pan out for the Cowboys. The outcomes will not please you.
Notable Madden statistics:
Dak Prescott: 20 of 28, 267 yards, 3 touchdowns
Tony Pollard: 24 carries, 157 yards, 1 touchdown
CeeDee Lamb: 7 receptions, 80 yards
Michael Gallup: 5 receptions, 99 yards, 2 touchdowns
Brandin Cooks: 3 receptions, 29 yards, 1 touchdown
Jake Ferguson: 3 receptions, 21 yards
Chauncey Golston and Jayron Kearse each had a sack, DeMarcus Lawrence and Micah Parsons split another
Stephon Gilmore had one interception
The game can be strange and do things that don’t line up with normal NFL rules (a problem many people have with it), and the Cowboys ended up losing to the Panthers in double overtime. If something similar happened, it’s safe to say that things would be rather chaotic around here in the week before the holiday.
That is consoling because Madden hasn’t exactly been too accurate in his Cowboys game predictions this season.

It remains to be seen what will transpire between the Cowboys and Panthers on Sunday; let’s hope, as at times this season, that Madden is utterly without fault.
