Ahead of their weekend trip to Newcastle, Chelsea has issued a mixed bag of news from their most recent training session.

Colwill and Gusto both pulled out of their international assignments with the England and France Under-21 squads, citing shoulder and knee issues, respectively.

They are now anticipated to return in time for Chelsea’s trip to Newcastle on Saturday. Nkunku and Lavia may need to attend four more training sessions to reassure Mauricio Pochettino’s staff that they are fit.

Along with numerous young players who have not yet joined up with national teams, Reece James, Raheem Sterling, Marc Cucurella, Armando Broja, Benoit Badiashile, and Robert Sanchez have also been training this week.

In order to expedite his recuperation from a recurrent hamstring issue, James chose not to join Gareth Southgate’s squad. “It’s been a while since I felt this good,” he said during the weekend. I can definitely feel my fitness and strength increasing once more. I’ve been able to play consistently lately.

James will be spending several days in France, seeing Rugby World Cup-winning captain Siya Kolisi of South Africa. Pochettino and his non-international players have been granted several days off.

Trevoh Chalobah and Marcus Bettinelli, two injured individuals, attended the Formula One Grand Prix in Las Vegas.
