Deebo Samuel, a receiver with the 49ers, is defending his “trash” remarks.

Samuel was questioned for calling Eagles cornerback James Bradberry “trash” during the previous season on Monday.

Samuel stated, via Jennifer Lee Chan of NBC Sports Bay Area, “I don’t regret anything I said.”

Samuel joined LeSean McCoy, Brandon Marshall, and Adam “Pacman” Jones on the “I Am Athlete” podcast after the 49ers’ NFC Championship Game loss to the Eagles. Samuel was questioned by the panel on the Eagles defense’s weaknesses.

“Where are the gaps?” stated Samuel. “The rear end. Both of them are All-Pros because of the D-line. I respect Slay, aside from [Darius] Slay. Were you present for Brandon [Aiyuk]’s play? the game’s second play, on which [Brock] Purdy was injured? Just the separation, that’s all.

Samuel’s remark about Bradberry being specially brought up by McCoy was considered “trash.”

Samuel made fun of Bradberry on social media after he was flagged for a defensive holding penalty on third down with 1:54 left in Super Bowl LVII, which allowed Harrison Butker to score the game-winning field goal.

“Believe me now,” Samuel wrote with several emojis.

When the 49ers and Eagles play on Sunday, Samuel will get to see Bradberry for the first time since the NFC Championship Game.

Samuel stated, “I’m not feeling anything right now; I’m just going to see how it goes.” It’s not about getting even. We will approach it as any other scheduled game. It’s just another one.
