The Philadelphia Eagles and the San Francisco 49ers will square off at Lincoln Financial Field on Sunday.

The Niners lead the NFC West by two games, while the Eagles have the best record in the NFL at 10-1. Both teams are coming off strong Week 12 wins, with Philadelphia defeating the Buffalo Bills in overtime in the rain, and the Niners taking care of business in Seattle with a 31-13 victory over the Seahawks on Thanksgiving.

The Niners have the benefit in terms of rest, having had an extra week off after playing on Thanksgiving. Will weariness be an issue for Philadelphia? The Eagles played 92 snaps in the overtime win.

The Eagles defense will target Niners quarterback Brock Purdy, who is in good shape and leads the NFL in passing rating (112.3), yards per attempt (9.4), and completion % (70.2).

Philadelphia is vying for the No. 1 spot in the NFC playoff picture, and they’ll need quarterback Jalen Hurts to keep up his MVP-like performance. He has won 14 consecutive games against clubs with winning records.

The Eagles’ only loss so far this season came at the hands of the New York Jets in Week 6.

FLASHBACK: In last season’s NFC Championship Game, the top-seeded Eagles beat the Niners, 31-7.  San Francisco ran out of healthy quarterbacks after Purdy’s first-series injury and backup Josh Johnson’s third-quarter concussion.

RECORDS: Philadelphia Eagles (10-1) vs. San Francisco 49ers (8-3)

ODDS: Philadelphia is a 2.5-point underdog vs. the Niners

GAME TIME: Sunday, Dec. 3rd, 2023 at 4:25 p.m. ET

LOCATION: Lincoln Financial Field – Philadelphia, Penn.

TV/RADIO: FOX, WGR 550

THE FINAL WORD: The 49ers still harbor the belief that if not for some untimely injuries, they, and not the Eagles, would have advanced to last year’s Super Bowl.

This season, they’ve kept up their criticism of the NFC champs, with Niners star Deebo Samuel having called Philly cornerback James Bradberry “trash.”
