The San Francisco 49ers defeated the Philadelphia Eagles 42-19 in an NFC Championship Game rematch on Sunday, but the victory was tarnished by an ugly sideline brawl between the two teams.

The primary offenders were 49ers linebacker Dre Greenlaw and Eagles wide receiver DeVonta Smith, with Greenlaw even arguing with Philadelphia security staff leader Dom DiSandro.

Following that, San Francisco head coach Kyle Shanahan discussed the event as well as his conversation with Philadelphia head coach Nick Sirianni.

“He was awesome,” Shanahan said about Sirianni, according to the official Niners website. “He wasn’t a fan of what had happened on the play either, and he handled it with total class.”

Shanahan was clearly dissatisfied with the outcome and was disappointed with DiSandro.

“I tried my hardest not to lose my mind,” Shanahan explained. “I hope I didn’t embarrass myself too much.” I didn’t get to witness everything from where I am, but after hearing people explain it to me and whatnot, I just can’t believe someone who isn’t even involved in a football game can mock our players and put their hands in our guys’ faces. According to what I’ve heard, Dre did it back to [DiSandro], and he allegedly smacked him in the face a little bit, causing him to be evicted. It was a frustrating game. I’ll have to view it to form an accurate opinion.”
