The long-awaited matchup between the Philadelphia Eagles and the San Francisco 49ers was marred by a contentious incident.

Dom DiSandro, the Eagles’ head of security, was ejected from the game after getting into a brawl with a 49ers player on the sidelines in front of the cameras.

There, DiSandro moved between him and Dre Greenlaw of the Niners, shoving both of them apart.

That’s when the Niners’ LB seemed to collide with DiSandro, resulting in both of their ejections.

Regardless of his good intentions, ‘Big Dom’ is likely to face hefty punishment from the league, albeit there have been no updates on that incident.

With that in mind, Niners head coach Kyle Shanahan indicated that he’d heard nice things about DiSandro and didn’t think he did anything wrong; it’s just that he didn’t need to be in that area to begin with (via David Lombardi).

Shanahan was far more outspoken about the circumstances immediately following the game, but he’s since softened his tone.

Nothing went right for the Eagles in this game, and now some are asking if their defense was as tough as they made it appear throughout the season.

Hopefully, we’ll see more of this new rivalry later in the season when they meet again in the NFC Championship Game.
