The San Francisco 49ers were lethargic for most of the first quarter and early in the second quarter against the Seattle Seahawks after a strong start to establish an early lead.

In need of a pick-me-up, the Niners looked to the man who can deliver it better than anyone else: receiver Deebo Samuel.

With 8:18 left in the second quarter and a 10-7 deficit, quarterback Brock Purdy converted a third-and-11. Purdy had time to assess the field and step up in the pocket after receiving his greatest protection of the day. Samuel dashed across the field toward the left sideline.

Purdy launched a fantastic pass that caught Samuel off guard. Samuel snagged it and raced into the end zone for a 54-yard touchdown, putting San Francisco up 14-10.

Following his three-score outburst (two receiving, one rushing) in last week’s win against Philadelphia, Samuel has now scored a receiving touchdown in three consecutive games for the third time in his career.
