Kyle Shanahan, head coach of the San Francisco 49ers, spoke to media following his team’s 28-16 victory over the Seattle Seahawks, providing many injury updates from the game.

The good news is that Dre Greenlaw’s hip injury does not appear to be serious. The linebacker was taken out of the game in the third quarter but returned in the fourth.

Cornerback Charvarius Ward was injured and did not return during Seattle’s opening offensive drive. He had a groin ailment.

Linebacker Oren Burks injured his knee in the second half, and Javon Hargrave injured his hamstring and did not return.

When asked if the 49ers are concerned about any of the injuries being long-term difficulties, Shanahan said, “No. I’m not sure if I mean Ward. We just need to look into it since he’s had some similar incidents in the past, so we’re not sure. Oren was still able to play.”

According to reports, the 49ers have come to terms with cornerback Jason Verrett, who will join the team’s practice squad. This might be critical if Ward has an injury that prevents him from playing.

“Hargrave is a hamstring, so I’m assuming he pulled it,” Shanahan continued, “but we’ve got to find out for sure.” You never know how long the D-linemen will be out there, but we’ll know a little more tomorrow.”
