After the San Francisco 49ers and Seattle Seahawks game on Sunday, there were heated exchanges.

Everything began when Seattle quarterback Drew Lock threw a pass late in the game, which was intercepted by 49ers linebacker Fred Warner.

When Warner tried to return the ball, Seahawks receiver DK Metcalf tackled him while he was trying to make a lateral throw.

Warner objected to the manner Metcalf tackled him after the ball had left the court. After getting back up, the 49ers defender pursued Metcalf down, gave him a shove in the back, and grabbed him by the facemask, causing an altercation between the two benches on the field.

After a while, everything subsided, and Metcalf was removed from the game.

Since joining the league, Metcalf has developed a reputation as a bit of a hothead, and Sydney, Warner’s wife, has had enough of his shenanigans.

In an Instagram Story that has since been removed, she made fun of the Seahawks wideout, writing, “A piece of TRASHiana.”

The 49ers won the game 28–16, but the brawl overshadowed the game in some ways.

Following the loss, Metcalf gave reporters his account of what transpired with Warner and the 49ers bench.

“I mean, if you want to call it frustration, yeah, it was frustration,” Metcalf replied. He struck me in the back of the head from my side. I simply responded in kind to that.

“I think of myself as a defensive player when I see a pick. That’s what I was doing, since defensive guys don’t get upset when they tackle me and suplex me in that way.

“I was making a tackle for my team,” said Metcalf.

Warner offered his version of events as well, claiming that before to the wide receiver’s outburst, he was really praising Metcalf.

“I have no idea what transpired,” the linebacker stated. “He didn’t enjoy it for some reason after I told him how nicely he tackled. Whatever occurred, I suppose, happened. That is regrettable.

Warner continued, “He has to learn to maintain his composure.”

“But happy we came out with the win.”

Aside from the altercation, Warner gave a performance to remember. With at least 100 tackles, the Pro Bowler passed Derek Smith for the most seasons in a row (6).

With the win, the 49ers improve to 10-3 on the year and firmly hold the top spot in the NFC West. They are unstoppable right now, leading the Rams and Seahawks (both 6-7) by four games.

Additionally, they assumed the top seed in the NFC following the Eagles’ 33-13 loss to the Cowboys.
