Given their 3-10 record thus far in the season, the Arizona Cardinals are competing for both pride and a high pick in the 2024 draft.

In the final stretch, the organization will also be closely monitoring quarterback Kyler Murray’s performance, particularly if they are interested in drafting one of the rookie prospects.

Due to a thumb injury he sustained last week, Murray’s availability for Week 15 was uncertain.

PHNX Sports’ Bo Brack reports that despite the quarterback having completed two full practices, head coach Jonathan Gannon declared that Murray is “good to go” for the game against the San Francisco 49ers and that his practice designations were primarily for “maintenance.”

In his four games since returning from an ACL tear, Murray has completed 60.8 percent of his passes for 864 yards, three touchdowns, two interceptions, and 106 rushing yards.

Murray guided the Cardinals to two victories over playoff contenders before the team’s bye this past week: a Week 10 victory over the Atlanta Falcons and a Week 13 victory over the Pittsburgh Steelers. Despite the team’s lackluster performance this season, Murray did lead the team to these victories.

But first up is a divisional game against the NFC-champion San Francisco 49ers.

Murray has a career record of 2-3 versus San Francisco, although he hasn’t faced the 49ers since 2021, when he helped the Cardinals defeat the 49ers 17-10.

Murray will have the opportunity to show the new administration that, despite a slight injury, he is capable of performing well against top clubs.

Before the Cardinals can begin to consider Murray’s future with the franchise, they have four more games left, including this one.
