48ers star out for multiple weeks with high ankle injury Following San Francisco’s 45-29 victory over the Cardinals

Following San Francisco’s 45-29 victory over the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday, the “49ers Postgame Live” crew analyzes the NFC playoff situation.

After defeating the Arizona Cardinals 45-29 on Sunday, the 49ers’ defensive line was even more porous.

Kalia Davis played just 13 defensive plays and two special teams plays before suffering a severe ankle injury in the victory at State Farm Stadium. During a conference call with the local media on Monday, head coach Kyle Shanahan announced that the defensive tackle will be out for several weeks.

With Davis’ injury, the defensive line, which is already without Arik Armstead and Javon Hargrave, loses even more depth. Clelin Ferrell is also dealing with a day-to-day ankle issue. Regarding defensive lineman Ndamukong Suh, a free agency, Shanahan did not provide a clear response.

Shanahan responded, “Not yet, but I’m not ruling anything out.” “You can see that we employed some of the guys on our practice squad last week. Although the exact return date for Hargrave and Armstead is unknown, we do know that they have opportunities this week. There are numerous interrelated elements that will be covered in this discussion.”

Deommodore Lenoir is day-to-day despite sustaining a rib injury during Sunday’s game. The cornerback will heal more quickly thanks to the extra day off this week before the 49ers’ next game on Monday night.

Jauan Jennings, a receiver on the offensive end, has been added to the concussion protocol. In the victory on Sunday, the wide receiver caught both of his two targets for 25 yards.

Brock Purdy’s stinger injury late in the first half of the victory had the squad, coaches, and supporters holding their breath. The day following the game, the injury doesn’t seem to be bothering anyone anymore.
