After the Jacksonville Jaguars’ Sunday Night Football defeat to the Baltimore Ravens, the team on Monday disclosed some concerning news for Trevor Lawrence.

After the game, Lawrence complied with the NFL’s concussion protocol. During the Jaguars’ last drive of the evening, Lawrence scrambled and suffered a head injury.

Lawrence’s injury may seriously jeopardize the Jaguars’ prospects of making the playoffs. As we approach Week 15, the Jaguars are atop the AFC South in a tie with the Indianapolis Colts and Houston Texans at 8-6.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers, who recently thrashed the Green Bay Packers on the road on Sunday, will play the Jaguars in Week 16.

The Jacksonville Jaguars provide an update for Lawrence

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that Doug Pederson, the head coach of the Jaguars, gave a curt update on Lawrence on Monday. Although he couldn’t predict if Lawrence would play for the Buccaneers, he did say that Lawrence had a shot.

It is not for Pederson or Lawrence to decide. Before Lawrence can resume playing, he needs to complete every step of the process. It is reasonable to expect that in order to get ready for the Bucs this week, backup quarterback C.J. Beathard will receive a lot of practice reps.
