Martin “will definitely have a chance to play this week,” according to McCarthy.

In regards to the injury that All-Pro guard Zack Martin sustained during the team’s road loss to the Buffalo Bills in Week 15 of the 2023 NFL season, Dallas Cowboys head coach Mike McCarthy provided an update on Monday.

Martin “will definitely have a chance to play this week vs. Miami [Dolphins],” according to McCarthy, 60, Todd Archer of ESPN said. With a quad injury, the Cowboys enforcer left the game against Buffalo.

After Dallas was already behind 14-3 in the first quarter, Martin, 33, departed the game and spoke with the reporters in the locker room following the team’s 10-31 loss.

Martin stated, “I’m hoping this week, treat it and get it ready to go on Sunday.” “I’m pleased with that.”

Cowboys need Zack Martin

The Dolphins have a potent offense, and the Cowboys will need Martin to help them recover.

One of the biggest reasons the Cowboys didn’t score until garbage time against the Bills was his absence for more than three quarters.

For multiple blocking metrics, Martin is ranked in the top 10 at his position, thus Cowboys supporters should be grateful that he was spared a more catastrophic injury.
