What was said about the 49ers quarterback by the Cowboys star?

Micah Parsons is well known for speaking out about his opinions. The Dallas Cowboys safety never holds back when voicing his opinions, whether it’s by making disparaging remarks about the officials or by drawing parallels with fellow players. Brock Purdy, the quarterback, was next in line.

The San Francisco 49ers’ signal-caller had a terrible game against the Baltimore Ravens on Monday Night Football. In just over three quarters of play, Purdy completed 18 of 32 throws for 255 yards, zero touchdowns, and four interceptions.

A finger injury forced Purdy to depart the game in the middle of the fourth quarter. The 49ers lost 33-19, and even though Sam Darnold came in to replace him and scored a touchdown, it was too little, too late.

Parsons was not impressed with Purdy’s performance and quickly launched a harsh critique of the San Francisco quarterback on social media.

What did Parsons say about Purdy?

Parsons attacked Purdy’s performance in a post on X, the former Twitter, writing: “Down 21 and there are no shoots or development throws! I hope this answers all of your questions.”

By then, San Francisco was trailing 33–12, and instead of searching for deep spots on the field to try to throw off the opposition offense, the home team insisted on employing a version of the West Coast style, which consists of short, fast passes.

When Darnold oversaw a 13-play, 90-yard drive in 4:05 to trim the 49ers’ lead to seven points, it appeared as though he had found the answer. Darnold dashed any optimism his team had, though, when he threw an interception during his next offensive play.

How has Parsons done against Purdy?

Parsons was fast to blame Purdy, but it appears that he overlooked the excellent defense work of Mike Macdonald, which effectively put an end to Purdy’s and Darnold’s options.

Additionally, the Cowboys safety conveniently forgot his lackluster performance in Week 5 versus the 49ers, when San Francisco easily defeated both teams 42-10.

That particular instance saw the 49ers signal-caller complete 17 of 24 throws for 252 yards and four touchdowns without giving up any interceptions. Conversely, Parsons did not record any solo tackles but did assist on three tackles.
