Following Dallas Cowboys edge rusher Micah Parsons’ jab at 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy during the team’s Monday Night Football loss to the Baltimore Ravens, wide receiver Deebo Samuel of the San Francisco 49ers has responded.

Samuel remarked on Up & Adams on Wednesday, “Like, bro, we beat you [42-10] a long time ago.” “I don’t get why he’s so bothered by what we’ve got going on over here or whatever the case may be.”

Samuel also criticized former NFL MVP Cam Newton for his remarks about Purdy, claiming that while labeling his quarterback a “game-manager,” the quarterback attempted to get him on his show.

Parsons also advised Samuel not to take things too seriously in response to a tweet that was removed:

During Monday night’s 33-19 loss to the Ravens, which was supposed to be a prelude to Super Bowl LVIII, the 49ers were noticeably absent. As the overwhelming favorite to win NFL MVP going into the game, Purdy threw a career-high four interceptions before being taken out of the game in the fourth quarter with a stinger. He was replaced by Sam Darnold, who immediately completed a touchdown pass before throwing the team’s fifth interception.

The 49ers are still in a strong position, despite the fact that many saw Monday’s defeat as an excuse to dance on their grave. San Francisco’s 11-4 record ties it with the Detroit Lions and Philadelphia Eagles for the best NFC record, but its victory over Philadelphia earlier in the season keeps it atop the standings.

On Sunday, the 49ers will play the winnable Washington Commanders (4-11) and have a chance to get back on track. The Commanders are on a six-game losing streak going into Week 17. Sam Howell, the quarterback for Washington, has been benched for Sunday’s game in favor of veteran backup Jacoby Brissett, head coach Ron Rivera revealed on Wednesday.
