“We are deeply troubled and incensed over the latest criminal cyberattack that targeted our studio.”

In response to this week’s significant data breach, in which hacker collective Rhysida leaked 1.6 terabytes of data into the internet, Insomniac Games has released a statement. Although spoilers are making the rounds on the internet, the studio has labeled the hack as “extremely distressing” and reiterated that Marvel’s Wolverine “continues as planned.”

In a social media message, the studio says, “We’re both saddened and angered about the recent criminal cyberattack on our studio and the emotional toll it’s taken on our dev team. Thank you for the outpouring of compassion and unwavering support.” In order to assist one another, we have spent the previous few days concentrating inward.

Then, Insomniac reveals that it has “development details” on its upcoming superhero adventure and that it is “aware that the stolen data includes personal information belonging to our employees, former employees, and independent contractors.” The business stated that it is now figuring out “what data was impacted,” but it did not go into depth about any potential support being provided to affected employees.

The message goes on, “This experience has been extremely distressing for us.” “We want the games we create to be enjoyed by all, as our gamers deserve and as we planned. But just like Logan… The insomniac is tough. Marvel’s Wolverine is coming along according to plan. The game is now in early development and will undoubtedly change significantly as it progresses, just like all of our plans do. However, we will have to wait till “the time is right” to watch an official game clip.

James Stevenson, the studio’s head of community and marketing, stated elsewhere that the data being collected online is “stolen data – not leaked info” and “pirated builds – not leaked demos.” For the uninitiated, the hacker organization allegedly claimed that it withheld 2% of the material from public view and wanted $2 million from Sony before exposing the content.
