“I haven't seen that much but I'm sure the kids will love the drama and I can't be there this year. It's playoff time. It doesn't matter who we're playing,” McCarthy said, per ESPN's Ed Verder.

The Dallas Cowboys face the Green Bay Packers in the first round of the NFL playoffs. Two legendary franchises will face off in another historic matchup at AT&T Stadium.

Cowboys head coach Mike McCarthy might be bitter about the performance after spending one year in the Packers organization. McCarthy talked about his games against his former team and didn’t add much to the story.

“I haven’t seen that much but I’m sure the kids will love the drama and I can’t be there this year. It’s playoff time. It doesn’t matter who we’re playing,” McCarthy said, per ESPN’s Ed Verder.

McCarthy will be keeping an eye on the Cowboys as they prepare for a postseason run, but it’s hard to imagine him not having extra motivation for this game. He was with the Packers from 2006 to 2018, and most of his success and popularity came from his time in Green Bay.

Coaches and players often downplay the importance of playing against their former team, but when you spend so much time with the same organization, emotions are bound to run high.

Dallas is the No. 2 seed in the playoffs after winning the NFC East title. The Cowboys have the edge over the Packers on both paper and film and have the best chance to win the game. It may be a close game early on because of the Packers’ ups and downs this season, but the Cowboys should be able to win easily at home.
