SAN FRANCISCO – A staggering 308 days have passed since the Eagles shattered the 49ers’ Super Bowl dreams in the NFC championship game last season.

But 49ers fans have long memories.

They flooded bars across the Bay Area, thirsty for sweet revenge, and that’s precisely what they found.

From the opening kick at Greens Sports Bar in San Francisco, the intensity of the clash between two NFL powerhouses was palpable.

“We can’t tolerate Philly, can’t stand the people, don’t care about Rocky Balboa – we just don’t like Philly,” declared Chase Coric, a devoted 49ers fan.

Coric likened the atmosphere to a playoff game, exclaiming, “The Niners are back, it’s our year. The Super Bowl is coming back to the Bay Area.”

For other Greens patrons like Kelly Hale and her husband Beau Hale, the game created a house divided.

Kelly, a Bay Area native and lifelong Niners fan, faced off against Beau, a Philly native and die-hard Eagles supporter.

However, the couple assured KTVU that the game wouldn’t strain their bond.

“We’re married; it’s not going to ruin our relationship or anything,” reassured Beau.

Between them, only bragging rights were at stake, and for now, Kelly proudly holds those until the next showdown.

The 49ers dominated the Eagles 42-19.
