On Friday afternoon, the Dallas Cowboys upgraded their injury list to include a quarterback. The outcome of the Cowboys’ game against the Green Bay Packers on Sunday might determine the team’s direction for the upcoming seasons.

Before the Packers game, Jerry Jones, the owner of the Cowboys, placed head coach Mike McCarthy under pressure. If Dallas doesn’t make a late playoff push, the Cowboys may target Bill Belichick, the former head coach of the New England Patriots, to replace McCarthy.

The Dallas Cowboys have a QB questionable to play Sunday

On either Wednesday or Thursday, the Cowboys’ injury report featured no quarterback. Due to illness, backup quarterback Cooper Rush’s availability to play against the Packers on Sunday was listed as questionable. Rush did not take part in Friday’s practice.

Dak Prescott, the starting quarterback for the Cowboys, is expected to be healthy for the whole Wild Card game. The Cowboys will use former San Francisco 49ers first-round selection Trey Lance as Prescott’s backup against the Packers if Rush is unable to play on Sunday.

Prescott’s health going into Sunday’s game must worry the Cowboys. If Rush’s condition is communicable, it may have infected other players, particularly those in the quarterback room closest to him.
