The Dallas Cowboys are about to begin their third consecutive postseason campaign under Mike McCarthy and will welcome the Green Bay Packers to AT&T Stadium.

While the Cowboys come into Sunday’s game in good form, winning their last two games, the scars of what the San Francisco 49ers did to the team in back-to-back seasons are still fresh in the team’s memories.

However, that was a different team, and with another year of experience, CeeDee Lamb isn’t interested in comparing this year’s team to previous ones.

“It seems like there are many guys who have been with the team for a long time, and we have all experienced similar wounds,” Lamb remarked.

“And we are not trying to feel that again.”

There’s a good chance that Dallas will at least make the franchise’s first NFC Championship since 1995, and with fans eager to put an end to the “30-year drought” talk that afflicts Cowboy Nation,

Lamb says that no one wants that more than the players. However, given the current playoff path, Dallas probably wouldn’t face their “kryptonite” in the 49ers until the NFC Championship game, assuming both teams win their respective games.

“I really feel that there’s no way they [fans] want a Super Bowl more than we do,” Lamb remarked. “Obviously, we have a lot of devoted fans, and we thank them for that, but we have been working hard since the end of July, so realizing the challenges we face and the chance to succeed and fulfill our destiny is rewarding, but we have to go forward and take action.”

Both teams are in excellent condition going into the playoffs, with Dallas entering on a two-game winning run and Green Bay winning three straight.

But the Packers are inexperienced, while the Cowboys have the past two seasons’ failures to draw on, and Lamb does not intend to add more playoff scars to his memory bank.
