Dan Campbell, the head coach of the Detroit Lions, says rookie tight end Sam “ran around” in the preseason.

Before the Detroit Lions take on the Rams in the opening round of the playoffs, Dan Campbell provided the most recent information regarding Sam LaPorta’s injuries.

LaPorta suffered a knee injury in the Vikings regular-season finale, and Lions supporters have been waiting anxiously for any information all week.

LaPorta is “getting better,” according to Campbell, who gave a briefing on Wednesday. However, the team won’t receive a trustworthy update on his status until “probably Friday afternoon.”

“LaPorta is walking today, so he’s feeling better,”

Campbell said before answering questions.

The second question came back to LaPorta anyway.

“You said Sam was running around today. Will he play on Sunday? (Detroit Lions)”

“I will repeat what I said two days ago: following today’s training, we will know a great deal, and then when he wakes up tomorrow, what will we know?”

stated Campbell.

“I am aware that he is improving daily.”

Sam LaPorta of the Detroit Lions is still a mystery, but head coach Dan Campbell keeps providing intriguing updates on the rookie weapon.

“He’s improving,” Campbell reported.

“I don’t think we’ll have a clear picture or know anything until Friday afternoon. But we’ll do more with him every day. He is improving.

During the team’s regular season finale against the Minnesota Vikings, LaPorta sustained a sprained knee and a hamstring.

Although it appeared that LaPorta would miss at least one or two games, Campbell gave LaPorta permission to participate in the NFC Wild Card game against the Los Angeles Rams all week.

He said they got more good news than they anticipated after the Vikings game, and on Monday he gave LaPorta a “slight” chance to play this week.

LaPorta has been a crucial component of the attack for the Lions this year.

American football player Samuel Joseph LaPorta, born January 12, 2001, plays for the National Football League (NFL) Detroit Lions.

In the second round of the 2023 NFL Draft, the Lions selected him. With the Lions, he broke the NFL receiving record for a rookie tight end.

In addition, he broke the team records for receptions, yards, and touchdowns received as a rookie.

Manager Dan Campbell’s choice to start every player in an attempt to lead his team into the postseason may have harmed Sam LaPorta.

After hurting his left knee during Sunday’s game against Minnesota, LaPorta hobbled off the field and was carried on a stretcher to the locker room.
