The Dallas Cowboys reportedly rendered their decision as to who would be on the depth chart during Sunday’s Wild Card matchup with the Green Bay Packers. The Cowboys listed backup quarterback Cooper Rush on the injury report Friday afternoon for an illness.

Because of his ailment, Rush was deemed unlikely to participate against the Packers. After participating fully in practice on Wednesday and Thursday, he did not practice with the Cowboys on Friday. Despite the ailment, Rush seems to be trusted by the Cowboys ahead of former San Francisco 49ers first-round choice Trey Lance for Sunday.

The Dallas Cowboys make their decision on Rush

Rush is expected to play against the Packers as the Cowboys’ backup to Dak Prescott, according to ESPN’s Ed Werder.

The Cowboys’ best bet to beat the Packers is for neither Rush nor Lance to play Sunday. After a regular season performance that will make him a finalist for the NFL MVP award, Prescott enters the game hot.
