Wink Martindale, the defensive coordinator for the New York Giants, has left the team and is already looking for work. There are rumors that he will be interviewing for the defensive coordinator position with the Jacksonville Jaguars
The interview is set to take place over the course of seFollowing a conflict that seemed to have been building for a while with head coach Brian Daboll, the Giants and Martindale split ways this week.
During that time, his “in your face” approach and high blitz rates have proven to be both successful and entertaining to watch, so it’s probable that he will continue to attract interest from the numerous clubs in need of a new defensive end.
The Giants were really 28th in sacks and 27th in total defense, despite the fact that the players adapted to Martindale’s methods and teaching approach. This season, he didn’t really make a difference for Big Blue.
