TAMPA, Fla. – Eagles coach Nick Sirianni faced questions about his future after Monday night’s playoff loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, a surprising late-season slump that saw Philadelphia win six of its last seven games after losing 10 Games. -1 start.

“I don’t think about it,” Sirianni said when asked if he was worried about his job situation. “I’m thinking about the boys. All the guys in the locker room, they all put their heart and soul into it. I don’t worry about myself. “As a coach, I will strive to be there for our players and staff during this difficult time.”

The 11-6 Eagles entered Monday as road favorites (-3.5) against the 9-8 Bucs, but lost 32-9 in a blowout.

Philadelphia became the first team since 1988 to go 0-11 in three or four consecutive playoff games. And the nine runs were the fewest since Week 7 of the 2021 season against the New York Giants.

The Eagles joined the New York Jets in 1986 to become just the second team in NFL history to start a season better than 10-1 and finish with seven losses.

“It’s very disappointing to see the way this team has been, the way it’s finished and the slide we’ve been on non-stop,” Philadelphia’s Lane Johnson said. “This is a tough business we’re in. No one is safe.”

Quarterback Jalen Hurts did not directly answer a question about whether Sirianni would like to return for another season.

“I didn’t know where it was going to end up,” Hurts said.

When asked how much confidence he has in Sirianni to fix the team, Hurts said, “I have a lot of confidence in everybody in this building. We have to go out and play clean football.” That’s something we haven’t done.”

In addition to Sirianni, there are questions about whether Eagles center Jason Kelce will return for his 14th campaign.

Cameras showed Kelce, a seven-time Pro Bowler, getting emotional near the end of the game. Kelce declined to speak to reporters in the locker room, saying, “Not today.”

“I love him. He’s one of the best players to ever play the game,” Johnson said. Kelce admitted this was his last year. “No matter what he does on the football field, I don’t think you’ll ever see anyone like him again.”
